Ben is a passionate upcoming director who has tried out his hand in directing an eclectic mix of projects. He has directed comedies, musicals, straight plays, music videos and more. He directed a production of West Side Story which played as a part of a youth international arts festival in Belgium. He is the co-founder and artistic director of BareWater Productions where he has directed Immaculate, My Own Estimation, and One Last Show. He has just finished his directing his first production that he has taken to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 'The Meeting' by Mell Flinn. He is currently assisting Sarah Van Parys with Falling Doors Theatre on their production of 'The Nether' which is being performed 26th-29th September at The Hope Street Theatre, Liverpool. He has also just confirmed that he will be assisting Jake Norton at LIPA on the large-scale musical, Cabaret.
He is also a proud member of Stage Directors UK union and is part of the 'Working With Writers' movement.
In October 2017 Ben directed Oliver Lansley's Immaculate which ran at the Sennheiser Studio Theater in LIPA. The show sold out every performance and received a 4 star review from Ian D Hall- reviewer for Liverpool Sound and Vision. Read the review here:
Written by new Scottish playwright, Mell Flinn, this play was directed by Ben (assisted by Amber Buttery) and was take up to Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 3rd-18th of August 2018 after BareWater Production's first full time production.
